| Meet the New OBA President | | Siegfried Mensah (1970-77) |

Siegfried Mensah was at Bancroft’s School from 1970 to 1977. Born in England, he spent 7 years in Ghana before his parents returned to the UK following the military coupe in 1968. The family settled in Goodmayes and Siegfried completed his primary school education at Barley Lane Junior School before sitting the entrance examination for Bancroft’s.
Siegfried was a boarder at Bancroft’s at the time when boarding was being phased out and girls where introduced in the sixth form. He certainly enjoyed his school days and has stayed in contact with the friends he made there and on the sports field. He was a keen rugby player, representing School House, the School, and the Old Bancroftians Colts. Later he became a county player, and is now a keen supporter of Northampton RFC On leaving school Siegfried read Chemistry and Management at Loughborough. He has had a classic career in IT, starting as a computer programmer, then working his way through business analysis to project management. After some time in management consultancy and the oil industry, he embarked on a freelance career in Business Systems Consultancy. Siegfried keeps fit training in Tang Soo Do, an empty handed, traditional Korean martial art of self-defence. He also plays golf. Siegfried is particularly keen on enhancing the ability of the OBA to help Old Bancroftians keep in touch with each other, and would be pleased to hear from you if you have any ideas or suggestions. |
